This is our last little girl of the litter, she was selected by a family at birth, but sadly a change in family circumstances, meant she could not go. She is the most delightful of our puppies.
Her parents are clear Non-Carriers of Genetic Diseases CEA, MDR1, DM, PRA, low DMS. Therefore, as well as being a family dog, we would be happy to place her in a family who were truly interested in preserving this breed, subject of course to licensing and breeder criteria.
We are Fully licensed insured and qualified. Level 3 in Breeding Ofqual, Handling the welfare of our Studs, or Breeding Bitches, Our Puppies and Pets. Dog Welfare and Grooming City and Guilds. All from our home, no outside kennels, we all live in the home. As our twilight careers in dog care we decided to bring healthy, happy dogs, who do not have common genetic diseases, down to the South West of England. As well as breeding the dogs we have, we search the world, seeking and purchasing clear non carriers from the common genetic diseases, to add to the UK gene pool, allowing other breeders the opportunity to widen their gene pool, given an overall wellness to the Rough Collie community in the United Kingdom as well as Western Europe. Our style of Rough Collie, all meeting standard, are of the classic, shape and coat, athletic, a long, but not over abundant coat. It can manage its own coat, and so can its family, however, they still require brushing and maintaining to ensure it stays healthy. We show how to do this, as we are also qualified groomers. From the time you telephone with your first enquiry, we are happy to give advise. Our customers' enjoy seeing their puppies grow, often from the Mum's scan to 8 weeks old. Indeed the wolf in the living room is a miracle itself, the way they communicate their need, how it is responded to by firstly mum, then others, the engagement of the puppies.
We stimulate from day 1-3 with Early Neurological Stimulation, every stage of the infant life is met with the protocol to ensure that the family adopts, a well socialised, teachable, puppy, who will grow into a good manner community member. All our dogs become involved in the dog socialisation, from just 3 weeks. all safely managed, by ourselves. We introduce noise, into the play pen, thunder, lightning, drills, hammers, washing machine sound, everything that they will experience, within our power, in their new world. We will be supportive of the puppy, though out its whole life with you, we work to ensure that your relationship with your puppy works, hence why we put the effort into every aspect of it age related growth, whilst in our care, we are here when the puppy is widening its education further, in your care. The Rough Collie, in our experience is a wonderful family dog, not a one man dog, the whole family, in the right hands. It is a pastural breed, therefore plays with the same dedication it would to dealing with flock, therefore, its experience with us is pastoral related, it is comfortable, chasing ball, fetching, herding, walking either 10 minutes, or 10 miles as a healthy adult. It does not like to be thrust in an outside kennel alone, it wants the company of a family and thrives in such. This breed becomes an interictal part of any family. The more you put into this dog as a puppy, the more you will enjoy its company. Our objective after our first litter was to bring these selectively bred dogs, south. It wasn't to make a quick buck, on the side, it was because, we wanted another girl from the beautiful bitch we had purchases, we asked the original breeder if she had achieved another line that she had made clear, so we could breed our first batch with? That triggered the events of love from everything to do with the Rough Collie as we had never seen such wonder of such tiny beings, and how they learn. No, it wasn't money that was our incentive.
For 30 years we had lived with ailing dogs, due to the mutations, the breeder who changed things for the Rough Collie, today we owe a good deal, the breeder who had allowed us to mate our clear bitch with a Sire from another line she had cleared, rather than use males we currently had, who were indeed carriers of genetic disease, gave us a second breeding bitch, immediately. The course was set, all money from the sale of the clear, non carrier puppies, who I cannot keep, goes into the purchase of more Rough Collies being imported, who meet our high standard of health. Our customers, love to share, the knowledge of who is coming over from US, Brazil via Portugal, Canada, etc. Together with how much they can contribute to the popularity of the healthy Rough Collies, in order that in generations to come, in order that our Grandchildren's, Grandchildren, will still have a breed as wonderful as the Rough Collie, know to many as "The Lassie Dog" A dog that will worship and love its family for all of its life, A dog who its family will remember and talk about, for the rest of their own lives.
