Why I am looking for a Dachshund (Miniature Smooth-Haired) :
We am looking for a small breed of dog that is full of character ready to join in with whatever We are doing. Easy to take with us but also happy to stay at home with us. I think we would get on well together.
A typical day for my new dog would be:
My husband and I are both retired so there would be very few times that our dog would be alone. We would also aim to take her with us when going out. We have family in the same village who would always step in to help in an emergency.
We would give her as much exercise as she needed. Either with play or out and about for walks.
We will crate train her for sleeping and at night. We will have a puppy pen for keeping her safe inside or in the garden when we can’t be playing with her.
We are both used to dogs having had them as children and since we were married, but we haven’t had a miniature dachshund. My husbands mother bred chihuahuas and we have had spaniels, labradors and terriers.
