Why I am looking for a Miniature Schnauzer :
We are looking for a pup not inbred, friendly temperament who is happy to socialise with other dogs. We had an Irish setter that suited us fine but it’s hard to get someone to look after bigger dogs.
A typical day for my new dog would be:
Up at 7am. Say hi and talk to her. Massage her and give her a kiss. We’ll laugh at her funny ways. Short pee walk. Back for breakfast. 8am walk up to an hour but depends on her needs. Feet wash and dry off. Treat. She’ll have a play with her toys while I work (which will be difficult while she’s a pup cos she’ll get bored. A bit of play and a pee break if needed.
At some point I’ll brush her teeth, touch her all over to teach her trust. I’ll be Training her with dog treats and toys. We’ll do things to her her to develop her skills and manners. I’ll take her places with noises and movement early on to get her ready for the world. After some dinner, a wee walk up to 30 mins then we’ll all cuddle on our chairs or in her case, bed and watch some TV. Last pee at 22.30. A wee treat and time for bed. I’ll make her comfy and kiss her goodnight.
I’ll leave her alone, first in the room for a minute and build it up until she can be left for a few hours occasionally. Me and husband at home all day.
